“Held in the Air” | 36 x 36 | Floating Walnut Frame

This piece begins with a richly layered surface of acrylic paint, tissue paper, mud, crayon, and fluid ink—materials built up over time to create depth, texture, and history within the painting.

From there, I paint into the negative space, allowing the birds to slowly reveal themselves, emerging intuitively from the marks and layers beneath. The process is both playful and expressive, guided by instinct as the composition finds its balance.

This original painting has sold, but I would be delighted to create a similar piece for you. Custom color palettes are welcome. For this work, I’m offering commissions with no additional commission fee (normally 20%).
