In June of this year, I traveled to Uganda with my best friends and my son, just before he headed off to college — a trip that changed me in so many ways. ✨

In Walukaba, I fell in love with the people—their warmth, joy, and the way they live with such abundance even in the midst of hardship. Seeing a community come together with so much love and generosity was one of the most beautiful things I’ve witnessed.

The weathered, layered walls there stayed with me too—each layer of paint holding a story. They became the inspiration for my new collection, Beneath the Surface. Like those walls, we all carry stories stacked on top of one another—joy and loss, hope and healing.
